Galette des Rois
The Galette des Rois, or King Cake, is a beloved French tradition enjoyed during Epiphany. At Ici et Là, Chef Philippe Dupré crafts this exquisite pastry with the utmost care, using golden puff pastry filled with rich almond frangipane cream. Each galette comes with its traditional fève (charm) hidden inside – whoever finds it becomes the king or queen of the day! Our galettes are available seasonally in January, bringing a taste of authentic French celebration to Bucharest.
Ingredients
Golden puff pastry, almond frangipane (ground almonds, butter, sugar, eggs), traditional fève charm, powdered sugar glaze.
Preparation
Our puff pastry is made fresh in-house, layered multiple times for maximum flakiness. The frangipane is prepared with premium French almonds. Each galette is baked to golden perfection and finished with a beautiful caramelized top.
